A man finds a few moments of peace in a park of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
At first I was looking to shot this big tree, which was right between me and the sleeping man so I didn’t see him. It’s just after taking my shot that I saw this man sleeping peacefully, and felt it could be a great shot. I wanted him to remain the subject of the photography so I focused on him, but kept an aperture wide enough to have the big tree in a very, very slight out of focus.
All the processing was done in Adobe Lightroom. It was a bit tricky to find the perfect setting for the green of the leaves, usually I don’t like how leaves turn out in black and white but in this case, with a bit of trial and error playing with the global exposure, the black and shadow levels, and the brushes too, I obtained a result I really like. I also took care of leaving the man in a brighter zone than the rest of the photo.
